The former superintendent of Bassett Unified School District, Alejandro “Alex” Rojas is now general manager of Central Basin Municipal Water District. A resident of Los Angeles, CA, Alex Rojas has led the municipal water district since August 2020. He directs cross-functional teams, manages financial resources, drives capital improvements, and coordinates stakeholder engagements.

Alejandro Rojas is a tech-forward organization leader with turnaround expertise. At Central Basin Municipal Water District, he has integrated artificial intelligence to enhance productivity and deployed Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes, cutting costs. On the revenue side, Dr. Rojas has led revenue diversification and pricing optimization strategies to achieve a 30 percent increase in sales. This combination of higher revenue and cost-effective operations has enabled the organization to grow cash reserves to over $20 million, earning a higher bond credit rating from two major rating agencies.

Previously, as superintendent of Bassett Unified School District, he led over $30 million worth of infrastructure projects, modernizing classrooms and deploying new technology infrastructure to enable schools in the district to better serve their 3,500-plus students. He further leveraged Six Sigma methodologies to enhance school district systems which led to better student performance.

Alex Rojas lends his operations management, project management, and digital transformation skills to other organizations as principal consultant of Greenvale Consulting Services. He has a PhD from the University of Southern California and an MS from the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Rojas is a board member and volunteer with Rose Bowl Riders.
